Volunteer Opportunities

What: Research, Archive Support: Scanning, Indexing, Updating Records, etc.
Where: Heritage Center at Steel Lake Annex

What: Maintenance Projects: Create and install Display Pieces, Basic Repairs, etc.
Where: Heritage Center and Historical Denny and Barker Cabins at Hylebos Wetlands Park
When: As needed

What: Exhibits: Docents, Planning, Research, Set Up, and Removal to Storage or Returned
Where: Heritage Center and Historical Denny & Barker Cabins at Hylebos Wetlands Park
When: Twice a year Open Houses at the Heritage Center (early Spring and late Fall) as scheduled
Set up inside both cabins in preparation for the May opening and October breakdown and storage.

What: Programs and Events: Planning, Staffing, Refreshments, Display/Tent Set Up and Breakdown
Where: Heritage Center, Historical Barker and Denny Cabins, and various locations in Federal Way.
When: Assist at Biannual Exhibits and Open Houses at the Heritage Center, Annual Membership Meeting (Sept. or Oct.)
May through October at the Historical Denny and Barker Cabins. Staff booth at The Lion’s Club Car Show, Kiwanis Salmon Bake.
